Story
Most people who know me also know my other half, Dawn. In September 2021, Dawn was diagnosed with aggressive stage 3 bowel cancer.
Nearly 43,000 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer in the UK every year. It is the UK's second biggest cancer killer, claiming someone's life every 30 minutes. Those who are under 50 can experience additional difficulties getting diagnosed, with 4 in 10 needing three or more visits to their GP before receiving further tests, many being told they are too young to have bowel cancer.
Fortunately, Dawn received the treatment she needed from an incredible team and is currently NED (no evidence of disease).
In support of Bowel Cancer UK, to raise funds and, just as importantly, awareness, I will be hiking the Two Moors Way, a 117 mile route from the South to the North Devon coast, crossing both Dartmoor and Exmoor. The goal is to finish in 5 days, from 28th May to 1st June.
To those that we know and love. And those that we don't know yet. Please take a moment to read the symptoms here - https://www.bowelcanceruk.org.uk/about-bowel-cancer/
