Story
Hello, thank you for checking out my JustGiving page
I am a year 12 student with autism. I plan to walk 80k in a month to raise as much money as possible for the National Autistic Society. I will start this on July 13th, in the month leading up to my 17th Birthday
I was diagnosed with autism at the age of 6, and it affects me every day. Luckily, I have such an amazing support network with amazing parents, very supportive school etc. to help get me through the tough times. However, I know not everyone like me is lucky to have all that amazing support and I want to help change that.
The National Autistic Society offer courses to help support parents of autistic children. They have 116 different branches for social activities and they offer a variety of work programmes. They also have a family of schools and adult residential care. All this makes sure autistic people get the support they need and that is what I want to raise money for.
I will find walking 80K in a month very hard because I have very low stamina levels, which are made worse by the fact I get heightened anxiety when walking around publicly. I will have to challenge myself every day to achieve this, but I am determined to try and raise money for the people like me as I feel so lucky to have amazing support from the people around me already, and more people deserve that support.
Any donations whether they are big or small will be appreciated so much, thank you
I will post updates and information about autism and how it affects me throughout the month in the comments section on this page, and I will also post the updates on my facebook/ instagram accounts.
again thank you everybody for your support
