Story
As most of you know in July 2022, my amazing wife Dianne was diagnosed with breast cancer (or ER positive, lobular invasive carcinoma to give it its full and horrendous name). Following extensive treatment and 3 surgeries later, she was told that she was cancer free in December of that year.
However, getting this news was really just the beginning of her recovery, and both physically and mentally Di deals with her illness every day.
The side effects of the medication that she has to take (to minimise the risk of the cancer returning) are absolutely brutal. The thought that the cancer will return is something that is constantly in her mind, and this impacts life decisions every day.
The charity Breast Cancer Now have provided vital resources, support, courses and connections that have helped Di understand and cope with this unrelenting disease.
In April 2025, exactly 17 years after I completed the London Marathon for the one and only time I thought I’d ever do it, I’m doing it again!
In the last 17 years, I’ve not run (apart from 3 Park Runs in 2018) so this is not an easy task for me. However, for all the reasons I’ve spoken about above, I’m doing it again, and even if it breaks me, I’m going to complete it and raise as much money as I can for this amazing charity.
Thank you for your support, Dianne, myself and Breast Cancer Now are so appreciative of your donation ❤️
