Story
On Saturday 14th September, Amy and myself are taking part in the Walk to Remember for Tŷ Hafan Children's Hospice in memory of King Cai 👑💙
Ty Hafan supported Cai through his life. He went there and stayed for short stays regularly which allowed us to have a break from caring for him.
Amy's son Finley also uses Ty Hafan and they continue to support Finley and Amy's family. Fin and Cai were best mates and grew up together 💕
Cai loved it at Ty Hafan and they become our extended family.
They went above and beyond for Cai and it was the only place I could leave him and trust that they would be able to care for every need they had.
There were there every step of the way throughout our journey. The happy times and the sad times. They were and still are a massive support.
When the time come to say goodbye to Cai I always new I wanted him to go to Ty Hafan. It was a place we knew and a place we all felt safe. Cai had a peaceful death and was surrounded by love not only from his family but all the staff at Ty Hafan too.
They made the worst time in our lives that little bit better. They supported Cai and us, to ensure we all had everything we needed and created the perfect last memories with Cai as a family.
The staff are incredible humans. Super humans. And we are so so lucky to have a place like Ty Hafan so close to home.
Never did I imagine this place would be such a massive part of our lives. I never imagined I'd end up using a children's hospice, but I am so so grateful for it and the sad reality is any parent could be in my shoes as no one knows what is around the corner.
No families in Wales should have to face the death of their child alone and thankfully we never.
Thankyou for taking the time to read our story and donating in memory of Cai ❤️💛🩷💚🧡💜🩵
