Story
Last year our Mum was diagnosed with cancer and we have seen first hand how cancer affects not only the individuals personally but also their family and friends. Like many families who find themselves in this position, we would like to do something positive to give back at a time when events can seem out of control.
In June I am going to join my Dad and brother and take on a Mighty Hike in the Lake District to hopefully raise lots of money to help support people living with cancer. The hike is a half marathon through the fells to the western side of Ullswater. The Lake District is on my doorstep but this will still be a significant challenge for the three of us in different ways.
As a team, we would appreciate your support to raise as much funding as possible to support Macmillan. This would got towards funding nurses or support workers and equipment. For example each £250 we raise can fund a Macmillan Support Worker for two days who could provide emotional, practical and financial advice to someone affected by cancer.
