Story
‘Keep in touch’ is an old boys touch rugby team that brings up to 100 rugby players from all backgrounds and levels together. We play a game every week of the year, great for health and our mental well being. We are lucky to have each other.
Our group gives to various charities through a small donation we pay each week when we play. Sadly we have lost one of our own through suicide, a good friend to many and so this rugby centric fundraiser began. We have all been impacted in some way, so this event is for everyone who has felt the pain of loss.
On the 8th of December we are coming together as a group to raise awareness and money to help stop male suicide, bring mates together, have fun (and poor quality touch rugby) and remember those we have all lost.
12 men a day in Scotland die as a result of suicide. For every death at least 100 family and friends are impacted.
We are donating all our money to Brothers in Arms(BIA), who are doing some great work to help anyone manage their mental well being.
Using artificial intelligence and data analytics, BIA are developing a new technology driven app (#Blether) to intervene ahead of any crisis. This we believe will make the break through we all want.
Thank you to all that have helped pull our event together. A massive thanks to Glasgow Warriors that have been right by our side as soon as the idea was suggested. To all our sponsors we are truly grateful.
Thank you and BIG LOVE from all at ‘Keep in Touch’ we are with all those hurting today and tomorrow.
