Story
In September I am taking part in The Great North Run on behalf of The Institute of Cancer Research (the 'ICR').
Through world-class research and education, the ICR aim to transform the lives of cancer patients. Unfortunately, 1 in 2 people in the UK born after 1960 will be diagnosed with some form of cancer during their lifetime.
I can't say I'm particularly looking forward to running a half marathon (I hadn't done any running for about 20 years!) but as someone who has been affected by cancer, as well as having family and friends impacted, it's important to try and do something, and, actually, the challenge of training for this event has been quite enjoyable at times.
Any donations will be gratefully received.
Thank you.
