Story
In March 2025, alongside some past and present colleagues of Furniture Resource Centre I will be taking part in the Liverpool Half Marathon / 10 Miler Road Race to raise money for our charity Time for Bed which is just one of our charity initiatives in our mission to end furniture poverty.
The Time For Bed campaign launched with the intention of providing every child in the region with their own bed to sleep in at night. 18,000 children in Merseyside do not have their own bed to sleep in at night.. By supporting Time for Bed it will ensure each child on Merseyside has a bed of their own, allowing them to get a good night's sleep. A bed supports a child's physical and emotional development, as well as their concentration levels and ability to engage in education.
End Furniture Poverty’s Time for Bed appeal aims to:
• Provide cot or bed bundles containing a bed, mattress and warm bedding to each baby and child across the region who are currently living without their own bed, giving them a warm, comfortable place of their own to sleep each night.
• Improve the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of children living in poverty
• Support a child’s bedtime routine
• Help children develop to their full potential each day through education following a good night’s sleep
• Reduce feelings of isolation by offering independence to help boost a child’s self-esteem and confidence, and allow them to socialise with their peers
• Remove an additional worry from parents, helping to support the mental health and wellbeing of all family members
Your support is appreciated.
