Story
In October I am running the Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
Last year my sister-in-law, Kirsty, was diagnosed with cancer. Life has few greater challenges or upheavals. For eighteen months we have all watched with deep pride and admiration at how she has navigated the many hospital visits and rounds of treatment, all while raising a young family and remaining as patient, generous and kind as ever. Alongside her great personal perseverance which I know all those living with cancer so impressively find to get through this, she has also received vital care and support from some brilliant institutions for which we are all so grateful. One such hospital is The Royal Marsden, where we have been fortunate to see first hand the excellent work they do. The Royal Marsden is one of the world’s most important centres for cancer treatment that has provided crucial care to Kirsty and many others living with cancer. As well as investing in state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to support cancer patients, The Royal Marsden is also at the forefront of ground-breaking research discovering novel ways to treat cancer and improve the lives of patients in the UK and around the world.
The Royal Marsden depends for a substantial portion of its funding on charitable donations. When a loved one is living with cancer, families want nothing more than to know they are receiving the best treatment. So I am raising funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, to help them continue to offer that to as many people as possible. Any donations you are able to make to this good cause are hugely appreciated.
