I am raising funds for Sue Ryder, who so expertly cared for my dear wife, Gem, as she entered the last few days of her life.

During the last few weeks of her life, we found it increasingly more difficult to support and care for Gemma at home. We were slightly anxious about going into a hospice; however, it was one of the best decisions we have ever made.

From the minute we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome. I got to stay 24x7, as did our labrador Winston, which meant we got to spend every minute of Gemma's final few days with her, and for this, we will be eternally grateful.

From the moment we arrived, we were told there were no rules, and if there were, they would break them. The staff was warm and loving and made our time there as comfortable as possible. I will look back and remember these memories warmly.

Sue Ryder is such a deserving charity, and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts by giving something back.

So, please, people, dig deep, and let's help many other people like Gem have the peace, dignity, and care they so rightly deserve at their most desperate times.
