VICTOR is partnering with CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and supporting affected families.

Story

Welcome to my JustGiving page.

Every week in the UK, at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.

A dear friend of over eight years, a mentor, and an extraordinary human being, Dan Cook, tragically became one of those 12 on 15/05/2024 when his heart stopped beating. As of that day, my life and the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing Dan would change forever.

Dan had many qualities. Aside from being the best salesperson and leader I've ever known, I've never laughed so hard in a person's company, which I'm blessed to say was a daily occurrence. His legacy will live on in me and in the lives of those he touched.

Dan would have done anything for me. The least I can do is an Ironman, which I'm dedicating to him. On October 6th, 2024, I'll tackle Ironman Barcelona: a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile cycle, and 26.2-mile run (marathon)—all in about 12 hours, if I'm lucky.

I want to raise some money for a good cause in the process....

With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.

By supporting CRY, you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.

Thank you if you made it this far; It means a lot to me. #ironmanforDan - let's get it.
