I'm raising funds for Hope House which is a charity that supports children and families with life threatening conditions. They do amazing work in the local area and require all the support they can get to keep the service running.

I'll be getting dunked in a dunk tank all day on the 31st August to raise funds and would really appreciate any support that you can give. I'll be situated in the centre of Oswestry(Powis Hall Market, Bailey Head, Oswestry SY11 1PZ ), so anyone who wants to come along and support on the day would be gratefully received! As a dunk tank participant usually volunteers for 15-20 minutes being dunked, I'm sure you can appreciate a 6 hour sitting is quite a feat of endurance!

We'll also have a guess the Teddy name competition and a guess how many sweets in the jar competition on the day.

I'll be meeting the full cost of the dunk tank and running the event myself, so you can be sure that every penny raised will go towards supporting Hope House. We are asking for donations of £20 for a dunk with a target fundraise of £2,000. As an idea of the amazing work this allows for:

£480 - 1 week of medical supplies at 1 of the hospices

£1,500 - for 24 hours of high dependency care for 1 child

£2,000 - funds neonatal service for 1 week

Hope House Children’s Hospices is a charity that gives every local child with a life-threatening condition and their family access to professional care and improves their quality of life from the point of diagnosis.

We support more than 750 families across Shropshire, Cheshire, North and Mid Wales who are either caring for a terminally ill child, or whose child has died.

It costs £7.5 million every year to run our services. Approximately two month’s income comes from statutory sources and for the other 10 months of the year we are dependent on public support.

Our mission is to reach every child with a life-threatening condition in our area, to give them and their family access to professional care and improve their quality of life, and to raise the money we need to do this.
