Story
On the 5th of February 2014 I was told that what I thought was a sprain in my hand was actually a cancer. At 21 I had several surgeries to amputate my thumb and reconstruct a new opposable digit.
Young Lives Vs Cancer (formerly CLIC Sargent) gave me targeted help and support while I struggled to balance treatment with university. They provided day-to-day support, helped me arrange the equipment to help with continued study, and provided grants to relieve pressures.
I'm painfully aware of how lucky I am. With 2024 marking 10 years cancer-free, I'm celebrating by fundraising to support Young Lives Vs Cancer.
In 2023 I ran (read: jogged!) my first marathon. This time in 2024, I'm pushing harder with three marathons over six weeks:
- Barcelona Marathon on 10th March 2024
- Brighton Marathon on 7th April 2024
- London Marathon on 21st April 2024
I really appreciate any donations you can make. I can say from personal experience, with absolute confidence, that the funds truly make a difference in the lives of young cancer patients.
