Story
On the 28th April 2023, we are walking the West Highland Way in just 4 days!
This is almost 100 miles across some of Scotland’s most beautiful yet rugged landscape. That is equivalent to a marathon per day, over four days. The training has begun in earnest and we are already walking 15 mile sessions at the weekends.
We have both had close family members severely affected by cancer and understand how important it is to be supported along that extremely difficult journey. We wanted to give something back and hope you can support us to raise the funds to help MacMillan carry on its essential work.
We know times are tough for everyone but it’s also a really challenging time for charities. Every penny counts - no matter how big or small - so please do contribute whatever you can. Even just a few pounds will really help us reach our target.
We will be sure to post photos of our (painful!) training sessions as we get closer to the big day. Thank you again for your time and generosity. We look forward to the challenge!!
*UPDATE*
Matt has agreed to add a bonus challenge to help meet our fundraising target: doing the UK’s three tallest peaks in just 48 hours.
On Friday we climb Ben Nevis, then on the Saturday it will be Scafell Pike and finally on the Sunday we will complete Snowdon, all within 48 hours of starting. The total walking distance is around 23 miles and total ascent of just over 10,000ft. The event will run from Friday 16th June to Sunday 18th June. Wish us luck 🍀
