Story
After a lot of thought, I have decided to raise money for Parkinson’s UK for my next charity event due to a family member losing their father to this disease.
In 2004, Colin was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, he had been battling this horrible disease for 19 years which impacted his speech, caused shakes and loss of balance. Sadly he could no longer fight anymore.
Colin sadly passed away on 19th February 2023 leaving his family and friends devastated.
Parkinson’s UK is a charity close to the family’s heart, I know Colin raised £9,000 over the years for Parkinson’s UK along with the support from his son Chris and his daughters Zoe and Claire.
I want to give something back to them at this difficult time so on Saturday 27th May I’ll be doing 50 miles on a treadmill in 24hrs ! Following that Sunday 3rd September 2023, I’ll be taking part in Wolverhampton’s half marathon running 13.1miles in aid of Parkinson’s UK. This is something I’ve never done before but I am willing to throw myself into the deep end.
Any donations would be much appreciated as this money will go to Parkinson’s UK to carry out more research into the disease as there is currently no cure for this disease, and it will enable the ones suffering with Parkinson’s to have a better quality of life.
Please spread the word and keep donating at this difficult time.
