Story
In 2024 30 players, 2 managers and 2 referees, plus a variety of volunteers are taking part in 'Mattchew 2024'. A football match with a challenging twist to raise money in memory of Matthew Van Noort Pendleton who sadly in late 2023 lost his battle with his mental health.
Matthew was a marvelous person with an eye for detail as well as brilliant sense of humour and a tremendous ability to work hard all whilst maintaining a love for his family and friends. Matthew had such a curiosity for life and never stopped himself from learning something new and supporting others to the best of his ability.
He was funny, kind, empathetic and supportive to everyone around him. We miss him so so much!
In honour of such a fantastic friend to so many, Mattchew will bring together a group of amazing people who knew Matthew to participate in an 8 hour football match. Explained below:
Kick off 9am
6 aside
30 minute player rotation
Final whistle 5pm.
We are supporting MIND. One of the UKs leading mental health charities who support so many people around the country.
Our target to raise is £3000 and we appreciate that this is a lot of money. However, Matthew was worth it. We know he would be so proud of us all for taking part in this event.
Please do give what you can- we appreciate every ounce of love, support and every penny.
