Story
In April 2024, I will be participating in the London Marathon. As the photos above demonstrate, I'm not what could be classed as a 'natural' runner, and nor am i classed as 'within a healthy BMI range', so it promises to be an experience if nothing else.
To make it worthwhile, I have decided to raise funds for Ataxia UK. Ataxia is a progressive neurological condition that affects 10,500 people in the UK. It disrupts the messages sent from our brains to our muscles, making it difficult to move, speak, listen, and see.
This cause is deeply personal to me as my niece was diagnosed with Friedreich's ataxia when she was seven years old. Since then, Ataxia UK has been an incredible source of support for our family. They have provided valuable resources and guidance during this challenging journey.
Ataxia UK plays a crucial role in funding research for treatments and a cure. Their dedication to finding solutions gives hope to individuals and families affected by ataxia. Additionally, they offer vital support services that make a real difference in the lives of those impacted.
Every donation counts, no matter how big or small. Your contribution will help Ataxia UK continue their mission of improving lives and finding a cure for ataxia.
