Story
We are taking on the National 3-Peaks challenge to raise money for the Anthony Nolan charity, aiming to complete it within 24 hours!
Our aim is to raise as much money as possible for Anthony Nolan, an incredible charity that helps saves the lives of those with blood cancers/disorders and matches people with donors for stem cell transplants.
Unfortunately, one of our mothers, Jayne, was re-diagnosed with a rare blood cancer, 10 years after her first stem cell transplant. This has resulted in her undergoing not only Chemotherapy once more, but a second stem cell transplant. Thankfully, she is now on the road to recovery, thanks to the help of Anthony Nolan and Leeds St James hospital.
Due to the work that Anthony Nolan do, Jayne and many others have been given a second (and even third!) chance at a happy and healthy life, so please donate what you can as every donation goes along way and is appreciated a lot.
The challenge comprises of hiking up Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon, each of which are the highest peaks in their respective countries. A total of 24 miles walking and 600 miles of driving, all in 24 hours!
Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. We do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. We also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond. We won’t stop until we save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. Every penny you donate brings us closer to that day.
Thanks for Jamie Hardaker, Matt Snell and Ben Clowes for helping with all the logistics of this. It wouldn’t be possible without their help.
