Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. This is the Arctic Two Quid Fundraiser!
Arctic One are proposing to support via our 'Forward Motion' Grant system, London based Marina Logacheva Ideally we need to raise £600 to add to our grant for some customised hand grips. - We just need 250 followers to donate just £2
I will raffle off some work and anyone that donates will be allocated tickets (£2 a ticket) to help Marina get her handgrips.
'The Dream' Metallic paint on 40cm x 50cm boxed canvas. The work is based on the start of the Ironman!
The draw will be on 8pm August 20th and I will carefully package and post out the work anywhere worldwide.
Marina is a former cyclist, runner and Ironman athlete but suffered a severe spinal injury two and a half years ago (in December 2020) and became a tetraplegic, with paralysis in trunk and legs.
After extensive and ongoing rehabilitation, Marina is now working part-time and training for hand cycling competitions. She is hoping to compete in handcycling competitions nationally and internationally and dreams of becoming a Paralympian to inspire others with her story of resilience and determination.
As a tetraplegic Marina has poor handgrip/wrist function and to progress further and to avoid wrist injuries she need some customised handgrips.
Marina dreams of returning to Ironman and become the 1st tetraplegic to complete a full ironman. As a Charity we are keen to support Marina as much as we possibly can in this journey and here is your opportunity to help out a little too. We can guarantee that your entire two quid will go on to support Marina and other Para athletes. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to pursue their sport.
The Arctic One Grant System started in 2014 and to-date we have provided over 250 Grants to Individuals, Groups and Clubs representing 32 different sports. Any excess we raise will go on to support other applicants for grants. Arctic One presently receive around 50 applications per annum.
The Arctic One Foundation is a small charity that aims to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to get involved in sport through their events, training days and Grants. 100% of any donations made will be put towards the Grants system.
