Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After the success of our last 2 years fundraising, we go again! This year my main solo event will be the Manchester Marathon (14th April), Im not a big runner, the two half marathons I did in 2023 seemed very much my limits when it comes to distance, the thought of doubling it up is keeping me up at night, but.... we do it for the Christie. I will also, for the third year running be building a team to take on another 24 hour hiking challenge (10th August), this year it is go hard or nothing at all, we are going for the Welsh 3000's, certified by RedBull as the hardest 24 hour hiking challenge in the UK. If people are to continue to support our efforts we have to keep raising the bar.

I will also be taking on a Lakes 10 challenge (20th September), which is 10 mountains in 24 hours with a team built by The Christie Charity organisation.

Lastly for me, although this is not officially a direct challenge for the charity I thought I'd stick it on the roster anyway. For my 40th birthday and to celebrate two years in remission. I will be flying to Marrakech to take on Mt Toubkal (March 1st), this will be my first 4000m plus summit and we should expect some crampons and ice axe work nearer the summit as it will still be snowed over and icey, plus the additional altitude, a new challenge and new dynamic for me personally.

On Saturday the 3rd of Feb, my 8 year old daughter (Maya) takes on the Night of Neon 5K as her first challenge for the Christie. We will then look to train for Mount Snowdon for her second.

Thank you in advance for anyone who can donate, this hospital continues to give people a better quality of life and often a second chance. We fight cancer together.

Much love Matt and his Teams. X
