Fundraising for York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity
Starting on Saturday 5th April, Matt & Ollie (along with one or two guests along the way) will be running 7 Half marathons (21.1km) in 7 days to raise money for the Magnolia Centre, part of the York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity.
In preparation for the new season & to add a little bit of fun & a cricket element to the challenge, after each Half marathon they will also catch 100 cricket balls and face 100 deliveries in the nets.
Over 30 years ago Matt’s dad was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and since then, has spent many hours, days and weeks in York Hospital and receiving treatment at the Magnolia Centre.
A deterioration in his condition in 2020 & again in 2021 resulted in admission to ICU & lengthy stays in hospital. The care & treatment provided to enable him to return home, highlighted not only the amazing work that goes on at the hospital but the fact that every penny is important to help provide vital care & support to patients from across the region.
We appreciate many people are taking on some amazing challenges for some excellent charities at the moment but any donations to this fund raising event are greatly appreciated 🙏
* With your support, York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity is making a real difference in our local hospitals making patients, relatives and visitors feel better and providing a level of care that is beyond that which NHS funding alone could deliver.
Patients receiving treatment now and in the future at York Hospital, Scarborough Hospital, Malton Hospital, Bridlington Hospital, New Selby War Memorial Hospital, St Helen's & White Cross Court Rehabilitation Hospitals and St Monica’s in Easingwold will all benefit from money raised.
Thank you
