Story
At the beginning of this year we found out that Matt has appendiceal cancer that has spread throughout his bowel and stomach cavity. The type of cancer he has is very rare and as such there is not much research into it. This leaves us with a lot of unknown entities, a lot of fear and a lot of questions.
Cancer is frankly shit. It affects every aspect of your life, and when its as serious as Matt's its the permanent elephant in the room
Throughout the 10 months since diagnosis Maggie's, in particular Gilly the Centre Manager for Southampton, has stood by our side. They have listened, cared, helped us make sense of lots of things that are simply unfathomable, built lego with Ted, provided a safe space through the fear, helped us manage our finances, the list goes on... I honestly do not know what we would be doing without them.
I would love to be saying I'm embarking on a huge physical activity, but that is not possible. Instead, we invite you to join us for a bit of christmas cheer. Come to our home and share a drink on the 21st December, or simply have one at yours and buy us a virtual one through a donation to Maggie's. Every penny helps - and we truely appreciate the support.
I'm fundraising for Maggie's Southampton so that people with cancer get the support they need across the South.
