Story
Eight months ago, one of the swimmers I coach, Archie Goodburn, received life-changing news—he was diagnosed with three brain tumours. What were once unexplained episodes during training turned out to be seizures caused by oligodendrogliomas, a rare form of brain tumour.
Despite this, Archie has continued to show unbelievable resilience, determination, and strength. Just half a year after his diagnosis, he competed at the World Short Course Championships, proving that nothing—not even brain cancer—can stop him from chasing his dreams. Now, he’s training harder than ever to earn a spot on the Great Britain team for the World Championships in Singapore.
Archie’s journey is nothing short of inspiring, and we are with him every step of the way. He inspires both me and his teammates daily and as a result I have decided to run the Edinburgh Marathon to raise both awareness and hopefully cash for Astro Brain Tumour fund. Your support can make a real difference in raising awareness and funding for brain tumour research and treatment.
Please donate and stand with Archie as he takes on this challenge with the same courage and dedication that defines him.
