On Sunday 5th November, I took part in the New York Marathon to raise important funds for the Railway Children charity.

As an ambassador for Rail Aid, I was especially proud to take on this challenge. This charity plays an essential role in getting to vulnerable children on the streets before they come to harm.

Whilst the 04.30 starts and the strain put on my body was gruelling, it pales into insignificance when thinking of these children with nowhere to go and nobody to turn to.

The support and generosity of friends and colleagues across the industry will help the Railway Children to continue their essential work. There could have been no greater motivation for me on 5th of November.

Thank you once again to all who have donated and all who have pledged to donate, both on a corporate and personal level. I am enormously grateful.
