Story
I've been lucky enough to work for this amazing charity for nearly 7 years, managing the Bereavement Service and providing counselling alongside an incredible team of volunteers. Please help us to continue to provide this vital service.
When I was asked last year to run the London Marathon for Weston Hospicecare it felt time to run my first (only!) marathon so quickly said YES! before I changed my mind
I'd run a couple of smaller half marathons but never a mass participation event. So though if I'm going to run 1 big race I might as well do 3! All for Weston Hospicecare.
First I took part in the Great North Run last September - the biggest half marathon in the world, and incidentally Mo Farah's last professional race. Then 5 weeks later I ran the Hartford (Connecticut) half marathon, before starting the real work of training for the London marathon in April 2024.
I've had a couple of injury setbacks, but I'm determined to complete the challenge of the London Marathon on April 21st
Please help me reach my target of at least £2000.
Some more details of this charity are below:
Receiving an end-of-life diagnosis can be difficult, not just for the patient but also for their loved ones. At Weston Hospicecare, our team of palliative care experts is dedicated to working together to provide specialist support. Our social, emotional, psychological, spiritual and physical care helps guide people through one of the most difficult experiences they will ever face. With only 20% of our funding coming from the NHS, we have to raise £4 million each year to fund our care - something that's only made possible by our community.
