Story
STOP PRESS! I am thrilled that I completed my challenge of 50km on Thursday 26th October, only having to walk in the rain once.. THANK YOU ALL for your good wishes and very generous support for this great charity in their search for a Cure. Meanwhile I am so grateful for the support of family, friends, the NHS and Parkinson’s UK. Thank you Graham who keeps this particular show on the road. After collecting final donations, Total £2060!
Back story - This October I will be attempting to walk 50km, hopefully more, with my rollator, to raise funds for Cure Parkinson's, a charity that funds research into a cure for the condition. This will be quite a challenge for me, falls, feet and weather permitting. Now 79, and diagnosed with Parkinson's a year ago, I am in awe of how some other "Parkies" manage to live their lives, often with huge support.
However, Parkinsons is a fast growing neurological disease for young and old. I do feel that management of the condition is not enough. We need a cure to prevent this growth and to reduce the strain on our families and the NHS
