Story
Higher Achievement's after-school program offers 5th-8th grade students academic and social-emotional support during the pivotal middle school years. This has been especially important over the past three years, when so many children suffered severe learning loss due to Covid.
As a Higher Achievement mentor at Ida B. Wells Middle School in D.C., I've seen firsthand the enormous impact relationships and opportunities can make for a middle school student. I’m raising money to help send our scholars on college visits this summer, and I hope I can count on your support!
These opportunities are life-changing. For Higher Achievement alum Jasmine, college exposure helped broaden her horizons and secure her a full ride to a four-year university. “Higher Achievement got me started thinking early on about where I wanted to go to college. I see lots of kids my age now who don't have the same readiness for college," says Jasmine.
I hope you will join me in supporting the bright futures of my scholars! Your gift helps cover the cost of college visits that give scholars the chance to explore college campuses and learn about their choices for the future.
Thanks!
