Story
I support Women's Health along with being a huge Women's Soccer fan. Both sadly are linked. One of the top International players, Beth Mead, lost her mom to Ovarian Cancer last year, as have others that I know.
Ovarian Cancer is simply a cancer that doesn't give you a fighting chance to survive.
I, myself, had a health scare and have to walk. What better way to walk for my health and for the health of women globally than to participate in Walk in Her Name 2024.
March is Ovarian Cancer awareness month. “Walk in Her Name” will raise money for Ovarian Cancer Action. The goal is to for me to walk 100km (~63 miles) in the month of March (31 days). Cancer research, whether it be better prescreening for early detection or better treatment protocols, will help all women globally. The work just needs to be done, so that "No Woman is Left Behind”.
🔴⚪️Arsenal Women FC supporters have decided to come together as Beth Mead plays for Arsenal Women in the UK’s WSL to raise awareness and funds in memory of Beth's mom, June Mead, and I have joined them in this worthy cause. Last year they raised nearly £12,000 ($15K+). You can follow my and the team’s journey on social media. Either on my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itssoccer2me/ or awsc_walkinhername Instagram page While cancer is certainly not funny, following me who is not fond of walking just might be.
Women's Health should be given a fighting chance.
