Event: Great North Run 2024, on 8 September 2024
On Sunday 8th September 2024 our incredible team of 100 runners are taking part in the Great North Run in support of good mental health for all.

Story

The Mental Health Foundation is the UKs charity for everyone's' mental health. It's a cause we both are super passionate about.

As you might have guessed, neither of us are runners. That said, Hannah decided off the back of going from couch to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park 10km, a half marathon was next on the list to tick off. Not being one to pass up an opportunity to run back in his university town, Martin quickly followed suit. And while Martin might be aiming for a time, Hannah is just aiming to get round!

Running is something which is key to both of us helping to improve our own mental health. I (Hannah) realised this while getting out training for the 10km and it has made such a huge difference over a tough six months for me. So we thought, what better way to give back than raising funds and awareness for the Mental Health Foundation while helping boost our own (we'll keep telling ourselves that on those long training runs...)

We can't wait to take to the streets of the North East and any support you can give us, large or small, to help get around is really appreciated!

The Mental Health Foundation believe no-one living in the UK should be deprived of the opportunity for good mental health because of who they are, the community they come from or where they live. We’re developing better ways to support good mental health in every community.
