Story
Last summer, Martin’s dad sadly suffered a stroke which has left him with life-changing injuries. He has unfortunately been in hospital since July 2023, and is likely to need round the clock care for the rest of his life.
Martin and his work friend, Luke, whose grandmother also suffered a stroke in 2022, are running the Leicestershire half-marathon to raise funds in aid of Stroke Association.
It is the first time both Martin and Luke have ever ran a half marathon. The motivation of doing it for a good cause will hopefully make up for their lack of natural athleticism! Please donate if you can.
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
