Coast to Coast Bike Ride for Myasthenia Awareness

Coast to coast bike ride · 29 June 2024
For 'Myasthenia Awareness Month' I will ride coast-to-coast across England. Myasthenia is an autoimmune condition affecting nerve/muscle communication. It causes muscle weakness affecting the limbs, neck, breathing, eyesight. MyAware is the UK's only myasthenia charity.
On the final weekend of June 2024, I will embark on a solo coast-to-coast bike ride across England, over two days.
The distance will be between 120-220 miles - long and flat or shorter and hilly. The choice of route will be determined mainly by logistics (especially how I'll get home afterwards!).
This self-supported ride is a real challenge as I am currently fit for only about 40 miles. In moments of moderate (and self-inflicted) fatigue and discomfort, I will keep in mind someone close to me with myasthenia gravis (MG). For them, totally debilitating muscle fatigue and weakness, difficulty breathing, swallowing and moving around independently, are not a choice.
Please help me reach my fundraising goal of £500 for this cause. Every penny you donate will make a difference in supporting individuals living with this condition and raising awareness in the medical community. MyAware is at the heart of the myasthenia community, fighting this condition together. Thank you!
