Story
The Ridgeway school is a special needs school in Farnham, Surrey supporting the needs of children aged 2-19 with severe and profound multiple learning difficulties, additional and complex needs. For many of the children, school is the only community they belong to outside the home so we believe it's important that we provide the best possible facilities to enjoy rich, varied experiences here. The playground is in dire need of updating - it is a small, tight tarmacked space. Some parts are made of wood which is starting to rot. The plan is to completely revamp the whole area and ensuring that there is a space for every pupil in the school.
Martha is going to take part in a Marathon to raise funds for her school.
It's not your everyday kind of Marathon, Martha has Quadriplegic Spastic cerebral Palsy acquired at birth through meningitis.
She has set herself the task of completing 420 laps around her home in her wheelchair. This distance will match that of a marathon (26 miles and 385 yards).
Each Lap will be added to her Marathon chart by one of her fellow athletes who will be helping Martha with this Herculean task.
We will keep you updated on Instagram of her progress and hope that you can cheer her on via social media.
This cause is very close to us as a family, we are extremely lucky to have The Ridgeway School in our community.
The schools plans are ambitious and they need to raise £475,000. We are already over half way to are target and need to raise the balance by summer 2024 for the works to be completed next year.
