Event: Paris Marathon 2024, on 7 April 2024
In 2024, Cure Leukaemia will field a team of inspiring runners that will be taking on the Paris Marathon to help raise vital funds for blood cancer patients.

Story

Hello everyone! On the 7th of April, I will be running the 2024 Paris marathon to help raise money for Cure Leukaemia, a blood cancer charity. There are so many different types of cancer out there, some we don't really know much about. Sometimes it doesn't care how healthy a life you've lived, which is really unfair.

Whilst some blood cancers can't be cured, there are amazing treatments to help patients access the medication (some really new, pioneering drugs that are way less invasive) and therefore help them lead a life that is as healthy and positive as possible.

Thanks to incredible fundraising, Cure Leukaemia enables pioneering blood cancer clinical trials to connect patients with potentially life-saving treatments not currently available through standard care.

My mum has shown me that you can't take anything in life for granted. The courage she has had over the past three years is incredible and inspires me to push myself and celebrate what our bodies can do.

I love sports and anything adventurous, but when it comes to running, I’m terrible! But my training is already underway and I'm looking forward to giving it my best go.

No pressure to donate, but if you do, thank you :)

P.S Im taking the train from London to Paris and back, to make it a little more environmentally friendly.

Cure Leukaemia fund research nurses at 15 hospitals across the UK. These roles form the Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP) network giving patients, from a catchment area of 30m, access to potentially life-saving treatments through clinical trials, with plans to fund a paediatric network on the way.
