We raise money for children with cancer to improve their quality of life

Story

My name is Marlow and I’m trying to raise money for a charity that has supported my family for a very long time. My younger brother Rudy was diagnosed with a Pilocytic Astrosytoma on his brainstem and optical nerves, when he was 3yrs old. He has gone through 2 years of chemotherapy, which was really tough but it did work a bit. But unfortunately, after 18 months in remission his brain tumour has grown back.

He is now 7yrs old, and has had to go through a scary brain operation and started another 18 months of chemotherapy. He has just lost his hair again, and I’ve shaved mine off too, to help him. But I want to do more, so I am trying to raise money for a special charity.

The Children With Cancer Fund have always been there to help and support our family through his really hard treatment and have been extremely generous towards our family. So all the money that I hope to raise will go directly to them. Everyone at The Children With Cancer Fund are unbelievably nice, kind and supportive towards us and the other families going through the same thing as us.

To raise the money me and a few friends will be skateboarding for 24hrs together at the local skatepark and will hope to raise at least £300 for them.

Thank you for anything you can donate, it will all really help.

About the charity

CWCF was set up in 1998 by Ursula & Chris Downton with Kirsty & James Denny. Now, with the help of other friends and family, we still go out having fun raising funds to grant wishes to families that live in East Sussex, Brighton & Hove and who have children that have been diagnosed with cancer.
