Story
Leaving care and moving into your first home is a significant milestone for young people, but this journey towards interdependent living is fraught with challenges. For care leavers, the dream of having their own place can quickly turn into a daunting reality when they realise that many everyday essentials, like new fridges and washing machines, remain out of reach due to financial constraints. NHP recognises that having these appliances isn't a luxury but a necessity for building a stable, comfortable home. On Sunday 15 September, I will be joining staff, young people, and partners to walk 21 Miles in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk to raise funds towards continuing provision of a white good for each young person as they move into their first home.
I am grateful for any support you can provide to help us reach my target amount of £500 for the NHP Kiltwalk 2024. Your contribution will make a meaningful difference in the lives of these young individuals as they embark on this important transition.
Join us in making this journey towards interdependent living smoother and more hopeful for care leavers. Together, we can ensure that they have the essential items needed to create a comfortable and stable home.
