Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Can you imagine what it would feel like if you loss your independence and unable to do things for yourselves?
Lucky, most of us will not experience losing our independence until we get into our later years of our like. But can you imagine what it would feel like to lose your independence in our early years.
Nobody choose to be disabled, some are born with it, some due to an accident resulting being disable and others because of an illness.
Sadly, every morning when I wake up, I see my wife battling with her Multiple Sclerosis. She is now confined to a wheelchair with limited ability to walk.
Most of us can do a lot of things for ourselves and don’t think about them. However, could you only imagine what it feels like to be in constant pain all the time.
Doing the simplest task without feeling exhausted due to fatigue.
Unable to stand long enough to cook a meal or simply to feed yourself.
Taking a bath /shower or wash your hair.
Never know how you’re going to feel each day, same days good ones, others are bad ones.
The ability to getting up again after a fall.
Getting dressed or undressed without feeling you have just completed a marathon.
Having to give up work due to your condition.
Losing your independence and relying on other people to do things for you.
These are the things we take for granted; how lucky we are.
I am so proud of Jeannine, always try to stay positive, thinking of other people needs before her own. Also, the many other people who I have met with Ms and other people living with a disability.
Last September, a group of us try to complete the three peaks challenge to raise funds for “The Berkshire MS Therapy Centre” and to raise awareness of people living with a disability.
Sadly, due to four weather warnings on the last mountain (Snowdon), we were unable to complete
However we are returning on 20th May 2023 to complete the challenge
