We educate about mental fitness & stigma to prevent suicide in communities

Story

Last year I committed to improve my physical and mental well-being by getting out of the house and doing more exercise.

This proved to be extremely beneficial, and in 2024 I hope to build on that progress by further stretching and challenging myself.

I've found that running in organised events and raising money for charity to be a real motivation to keep on going.

On my travels I've been fortunate enough to walk across some of the most famous bridges in the world, including Sydney Harbour Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge and the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge.

But never the most iconic of them all: The Runcorn - Widnes bridge.

So what better occasion to rectify that, than by taking part in this race that starts and fishes on the bridge itself!

I will be proudly running for State of Mind who are charity partners of this race.

State of Mind Sport harness the power of sport to raise awareness about mental health and strive to improve the mental fitness of the population with the goal of preventing suicide

I know from friends' experience how valuable their work is in the community.

Life's pressures are increasingly complicated, and I'm delighted to support any work towards unpicking the stigma of mental health and offering real support and advice to those affected by it.
