Story

The Cleobury Community Hub (CCH) is a pretty special place. Designed by young people for the whole community in 2019. It has surpassed expectations and has grown exponentially. It has now come to a point where Phase 2 (purchasing the site) is nearly complete and Phase 3 looks within grasp. However, we need your help...

...Obviously your financial support is incredibly valued and we are so grateful, thank you! It is also crucial as we seek to get match funding for the development AND we also really want YOUR testimonies of how you engage with the CCH. Whether you have visited a lot, once or twice or just heard positive things about it and would like it to succeed, please leave a message with your donation. These testimonies help create the picture of what it means to have a diverse community space, where different activities and events happen and people from different backgrounds, ages and demographics can grow together.

Why a bike ride from Crystal Palace to Paris??

3 consecutive days, averaging 65 miles a day, starting from Crystal Palace on 24th Aug and ending at the Eiffel Tower on the 26th.

It may seem like a massive endeavour or a light ride for some but this is the biggest fundraising challenge I've ever had. The last time I rode a bike (before the training started in March) I was a teenager, using it to get from a-b. Cycling is not my thing, in fact, I would go as far as to say, I hate it!

That is why this challenge made sense. Asking people to give up there money for charity is difficult enough but if I were doing a fundraiser I enjoyed, I would find it pretty tricky to ask for support. It is not only the 3 day ride that will be tough in August but the whole training has been difficult and continues to be. Finding time to get out on the bike around family and work commitments and then having the motivation has not been easy. But the challenge has been set and I am excited to raise some money and see Phase 3 of the CCH come to fruition.

A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality." - Yoko Ono

We love this quote as once the vision had been cast, our community has run with it and it has become OUR DREAM!

Please help us get closer to the reality of supporting our community with:

- A purpose built dance studio

- Increased bouldering

- New roped wall climbing

- Accessible climbing for all including persons with physical disabilities through specialised equipment.

- Changing Places toilet facility (adult disability toilet)

- Coffee shop and kitchen facilities

- Increased flexible room spaces for different activities and events.

Q. Where is my money going??

Your money will be supporting the internal fitting out of:

- The purpose built dance studio that will be utilised by lots of community dance groups.

- The new roped climbing wall and bouldering cave.

- A professional sound system throughout the building.

Thank you for helping this dream become reality.
