Story
The total number of individuals designated as homeless was estimated in a 2022 study by the organisation Shelter to be over 271,000, or 1 in every 208 individuals. This estimate includes those living in temporary accommodations such as those supported by organisations like Crisis, Shelter, and other organisations and councils. The number of individuals estimated to be sleeping rough on any given night however is estimated at around 2440.
The ongoing and potentially worsening cost of living crisis risks plunging more households and individuals into destitution and homelessness in the coming months, and would likely see a huge increase in the figures previously mentioned, so the work of organisations such as Crisis will continue to become more prevalent and necessary than ever before. To support an organisation such as Crisis means supporting the lives and nurturing the futures of those less fortunate.
Donations made go directly to Crisis UK, and we aim to make this a wide event to draw in as much as we can for such a generous and important organisation. Any and all involvement in this project is hugely appreciated and valued, and we will go positively into this project with as much passion as we can muster.
