Story
I am raising money for St Catherine's Hospice in memory of two people and families that the hospice have supported in recent years.
My Dad passed away in April 2023, a little over a year after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. A little under two years earlier, my earliest school friend Lucy tragically lost her battle with breast cancer.
Both received essential advice, help and support from the hospice. For Dad, the hospice provided invaluable support and advice, giving us the hard truth when it was necessary and support and care at the most difficult of times. I know that they were equally helpful for Lucy and her family too.
I will be running my first marathon, the London Marathon in April 2025. A run is particularly poignant for Dad's memory, as it was during his weekly Parkrun that he first realised something wasn't quite right, as he started to experience focal seizures whilst running which ultimately worsened and led to the diagnosis.
This will be a significant personal challenge for me and I have been set a high donation target of £2,250. The hospice is funded entirely by donations so please therefore dig deep to support this vital cause, and share so that I can reach the target as early as possible.
With your help, St Catherine's can continue to be there for terminally ill people in your community through this challenging time and beyond.
26.2 miles is no mean feat, so please support our running superstars by making a donation or cheering them on. Together we can keep our hospice running.
