When I started making candles for myself at home, it quickly grew to friends and family asking to buy them...and then my ideas grew too!

Whilst building my little business as a sideline I decided early on I would love it to have a real purpose and meaning rather than just for self-profit. Whilst it is rewarding, as I love what I do, I have a huge passion for helping others and wish to donate a percentage of all further sales to a charity close to my heart. This is Action for Children.

I have 2 children and 2 grandchildren and have always been mindful and determined to protect them from any negative words or actions and to fill their lives full of love, support and guidance. Not everyone is lucky to have a fulfilled life full of kindness and support and if I could help every single person in need I certainly would try!

Action for Children's vision is that every child and young person has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive. They protect and support children and young people by providing practical and emotional care and support. They make sure their voices are heard and campaign to bring lasting improvements to their lives.

Action for Children take action in three ways:

Intervention. Anyone can get trapped in poverty, abuse or violence. When we spot problems, we take action early. We step in to help children, young people and families before things get worse.

Prevention. We give young people the support they need to grow up safe and happy. Projects like The Blues Programme teach important life skills and help to build resilience. It’s simple and it works.

Advocacy. Children don’t have a say in many things that affect their lives. We listen to what they want. We take their concerns to the government. And we campaign for better support and resources.
