Story
Another year, another chance to do something meaningful, awesome, challenging and inspiring to keep the promise I made to Olivia: her life will matter.
For those new to this side of me, I am raising money for Sands because they saved my life after my first daughter, Olivia, died in June 2016. I felt ashamed, alone and like life had no point. I started going to the Sands support groups very early on and some of those people have now become family and they keep me alive and thriving. I truly have no idea how I would've survived any of the early days if it wasn't for the amazing work that the West London Sands group does, so I want to make sure they have all the funds they need to help parents going through the worst tines. If you want, you can read more about my journey at www.MarianaSaraceni.com
What's special about this hike? I'm so happy you asked! There are so many awesome things to share. On May 18th, an amazing group of people (yours truly included) will take on Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) starting at 11:45PM! I am extremely excited to hike the 3,000 feet under a (hopefully) clear starry sky. I always feel close to Olivia when I'm in nature and every hike I've done since she died has been to be closer to her and to the best version of me. So, me and some amazing friends will be taking on the highest mountain in the National Park so we can all be closer to ourselves and me to my epic firstborn.
You can help me in a lot of ways: Support, high fives, voicenotes I can hear on the day, special dances to keep the rain away that night, tips for hiking throughout the night, food before or after, etc.
At the same time, what I would love the most is if you could PLEASE help me reach/beat my target and help SANDS continue to bring families back to life after they've been through unimaginable pain.
