Story

Right now, countless survivors of the conflict in Sudan are suffering in silence. Women, children, and entire communities have faced unimaginable violence, with over 12 million forcibly displaced, 3.3 million as refugees. Many have endured atrocities, including conflict-related sexual violence and ethnic persecution. Yet, for too many, dignity and justice remain out of reach.

Rights for Peace works to ensure that survivors can tell their stories safely, can regain dignity and agency by becoming advocates for their rights and can see perpetrators held to account. But they can’t do this alone—they need our help.

The ongoing conflict in Sudan broke out on 15 April 2023 and has become one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world. More than 25 million people—almost half Sudan’s population— face acute hunger. Famine has been confirmed in some areas with more to follow. All because of the ongoing violence.

Support victims gain access to justice, increased agency and dignity!
