Story

Margaret Seaman, a 95-year-old great-great-grandmother from Norfolk, has amazed and inspired millions of people with her woolly installations.

Her large and intricate models of Sandringham Estate, Buckingham Palace, Great Yarmouth Sea Front, and an NHS Hospital have made headlines around the world and raised around £140,000 for a number of local charities.

Margaret has been awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) for her services to her community. She says the highlight of her life was a private audience with the late Queen Elizabeth, who was delighted with the attention to detail in the Knitted Sandringham!

Margaret is currently raising money to help build the new Cambridge Children’s Hospital and donations received will ensure that every child experiences the best possible care at Addenbrooke's.

All of Margaret’s installations are now on permanent display at Wroxham Miniature Worlds, in the heart of the Norfolk Broads.

Margaret is always delighted when visitors show their appreciation of her work by making a donation to a cause so close to her heart.

Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust (ACT) is fundraising to build the first dedicated children’s hospital in the eastern region. Cambridge Children’s Hospital will be situated on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and will provide a whole new way of caring for children and young people, integrating mental and physical healthcare and having a life-changing impact on children regionally, nationally and globally.
