Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit Margaret's JustGiving page.
Margaret (my Mam) was born in Gwaun Cae Gurwen in 1922 and moved to Bridgend a few years later, where she still lives. She was diagnosed many years ago with Chronic Kidney Disease, initially under the care of Dr Webb and, on his retirement, the care of Dr Claire Parker and her amazing Renal Anaemia Team.
She is fortunate to receive this care at the Princess of Wales Hospital, which is close to her home. As a family we have been so impressed with the care and support from everyone within this Department - everyone being so helpful and cheery. She feels it's due to their expert care that she is lucky enough to be reaching this milestone age.
Margaret celebrates her 100th Birthday on 5th November 2022 and has asked for donations to The General Renal Medicine Fund instead of birthday gifts, as at this lovely age she says she has everything she needs but wants to help others with similar conditions.
She is always smiling, cheering up others and never complaining, grateful for life in every way whatever it brings. She may not be able to complete a challenge of miles but would easily win a challenge of smiles!
Any donation would be most gratefully received and will be automatically directed to YF75 General Renal Medicine Fund for the benefit of Dr Parker's patients.
