Story
Greetings,
My name is Marek Albrecht. I’m Polish-American living on small Pacific island Pohnpei. In response to big Food Security problem in Pohnpei we started Gardens of Pohnpei Non-Profit organization with Mission to create Agriculture Educational center that will demonstrate how local family could utilize a small plot of land to be self-sustainable = efficiently produce food and to live in harmony with Nature.
Our ECO Farm will demonstrate available technologies and tested practices to educate :
- how to grow vegetables and fruits efficiently to yield big crops,
- how to raise animals and produce compost
- how to build houses using local and recycled materials,
- how to produce their own energy and maintain water resources.
On a top of this, Gardens of Pohnpei ECO Farm will promote healthy diet practices.
To transform 1Acre of a jungle into food producing farm we needed : 1ton Truck, small backhoe Tractor, building materials, power and hand tools.
I spent All of my Life Savings to buy and import All of this Stuff and now …. we don’t have any money left to build Gardens of Pohnpei ECO Farm House.
