Story
A year on since losing my mum to cancer I am now undertaking another half marathon in support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
Having run my first half marathon last year raising money for cancer research was nothing short of the biggest challenge I had undertaken to date. It was a gruelling challenge having a heatwave for race weekend and starting the half marathon far too fast, using up too much energy and dehydrating myself in the process. Crossing the finishing line was such a relief and embracing my mum knowing how much it meant to her; I swore I would never do another half marathon!
Sadly we lost her only the week after unexpectedly given how well she was doing and looking!
A year on and I'm now undertaking the Royal Parks Half Marathon in support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. The Royal Marsden were instrumental in the care and support they offered my mum and my grandad only years before and I hope that any money raised will go towards helping someone else's life that's affected by cancer.
