Story
With 1 in 4 working Londoners struggle to afford to feed their family, the work of food redistribution charities like FareShare, City Harvest, and The Felix Project is more vital than ever. That’s why I’m taking part in Ride London to support The Felix Project to help them get more great quality fresh and healthy food to people in need all over London. Going to be an epic challenge, but all for such a great cause very close to my heart.
On 26th of May I will be cycling 100 Miles across London and Essex in Ride London to help raise funds for the charity as part of Team Felix.
We will start out in central London, cycling to Essex via Epping Forest and passing through Chipping Ongar and picturesque villages before reaching Great Dunmow. Felsted will mark just over halfway in the 100-mile ride, where the route heads back south towards Chelmsford on the 2014 Tour de France route, heading west towards Writtle and then back towards Chipping Ongar and into London once more, ahead of an iconic finish at Tower Bridge.
Don’t know how I’m going to get through it, 100 miles is no easy feat. Will be thinking of the positive difference I can make to those who are struggling with access to food and know that the more I raise, the more food The Felix Project will be able to provide to over a 1000 charities, primary schools and community organisations, directly helping hundreds of thousands of people in London.
The mission of the Felix Project is simple - to take surplus food from their suppliers and deliver it to any charity that helps feed people. It's all nutritious and would otherwise go to waste. Not only that, but it helps fight food poverty and reduces costs for hardworking organisations.
