Story
My best friend has Epilepsy. We’ve been childhood friends for much of our lives and I’ve seen first hand how the condition affected him and his family’s life especially through adolescence and in his twenties. At its worst, his seizures were uncontrollable he would have long spells in hospital whilst doctors tried numerous medications to bring the seizures under control. At times, the amount of medication he was taking meant it was almost impossible for him to lead a normal life and the side effects of both the condition and medication started to take its toll.
I am pleased to say in his thirty’s things settled down and his seizures were bought under control. He has now found his groove in life and carved out a great career. We are still the best of friends in our late forties. Because of the work Epilepsy Action do more people are able to lead a perfectly normal seizure free life. If you have read this far, my best friend happens to be me!
Anything you can donate is hugely appreciated. Many thanks, Marcus.
