Fundraising for World Land Trust
World Land Trust (WLT) protects the world’s most biologically significant and threatened habitats.
Through a network of 52 partners around the world, WLT funds the creation of reserves and provides permanent protection for habitats and wildlife. Partnerships are developed with established and highly respected local organisations who engage support and commitment among the local community.
To date, WLT has funded the protection of over 2.9 million acres, the planting of more than 3.1 million trees and the protection of over 13,066 species.
We support the initiative: Buy an Acre
For every donation, their selected overseas partners will be able to purchase one acre of habitat and protect it in perpetuity.
At present, they are supporting these 3 projects through the Buy an Acre programme.
Kenya’s Dakatcha Woodland, home to the highly threatened Sokoke Scops Owl.
Renosterveld shrubland in South Africa, where 95% of this haven for Critically Endangered plants has already been lost.
Somuncurá Plateau in Argentina, the only known home to the Critically Endangered and micro-endemic amphibian El Rincon Stream Frog.
Over the past few decades of conservation action they have helped purchase or directly protect more than 2,973,486 acres of threatened habitat, via the Buy an Acre programme.
